01 / The disappearance

The door was bolted.
Vane was gone.

In 1698, Aurelian Vane vanished from a study bolted from within. The windows were latched. His records and objects survived. His explanation did not.

An unfinished notebook. Conflicting accounts. Instruments that ask you to look again. You examine what remains—and decide what the evidence can actually tell you.

What was witnessed?
And what was only assumed?

02 / From screen to tabletop

The investigation doesn’t
stay on the screen.

03 / You are the investigator

Read a detail.
Hold it in your hands.

Move between illustrated testimony in your browser and the printed objects on your table. Compare accounts. Handle the instruments. Bring your deductions back to the book.

The browser storybook

Turn through the records. Choose a line of enquiry. Read or listen, then return when a new detail changes your understanding.

The complete written story remains available without sound.

The objects have a job to do.

The Alchemist’s game book belongs to this case. The separate Codex holds reusable instruments and reference markings. Neither is a solution booklet.

You make the observations; the browser does not electronically sense the printed tools.

04 / Start at your printer

Give the mystery
a place on your table.

This is a physical-and-digital experience: the game book, reusable Codex and specified puzzle tools sit beside the browser investigation.

  • Access to a physical 3D printer, or an independent maker who prints for you.
  • A browser, internet connection and desktop slicer.
  • Prepare the exact files and instructions for the released edition.

No physical kit is supplied by the planned digital campaign. Materials and any independent printing charges are separate.

For makers / A different way into the story

Make the objects.
Share the mystery.

You don’t have to write a mystery to become part of one. Be the workshop that puts these books and tools into somebody else’s hands.

Your printer.
Your workshop. Their adventure.

We’re shaping a commercial printing programme for home makers and small shops: authorised physical bundles, with valid game access for each customer.

  • A planned non-expiring printing licence covering commercially cleared current and future released games.
  • Finite game-specific access codes—not unlimited access or free future games.
  • Your signed-in maker workspace on The Printed Secret website, for workshop details and draft offers.

Final licence, pricing, support and release terms are still under review. Applications and purchases are not open; listings and orders are not guaranteed.
